as i said in an earlier post my fashion essay is about bands and musicians whos style is remembered on the same level as their music. ive started painting the bands im talking about, below is Klaxons and David Bowie. theyre not finished, ive still got to add colour.
im starting to really like detailed black and white drawings, its a shame i have to colour these in because i like how they currently look but as the bands outfits are so colourful and thats what im talking about i kind of have to.
i like how i do this kind of illustration without thinking about it, its my natural style, the same as i used on the Self Portrait illustration project. technically unflattering to the people ive drawn but i think its honest and gives character to the simple drawing.

my map-a-week journey was beckton to east ham this week. i like this photo because its such a typical east london high street, theres nothing special about it. i like the view point from the top deck of the bus.

not updated for a while...

will upload photos and post a proper blog in a bit,
quick update-

we performed our illustration greek myth play, was really funny and went almost according to plan.
we each had different styles of puppets which looked really cool, we used danny elfmans edward scissorhands theme tune as backing music which worked quite well as its other worldly and eerie, and didnt take attention away from the performance.
was very fun.

ive been focusing on the essay for the fashion lectures.
my title is 'fashion is the 5th band member', looking at musicians whos style is of an equal or bigger importance than their music. researching into different bands and what their fans think, bands through history and if their clothes have created a fashion trend.
its going quite well, got all my research sorted so just need to select quotes and pull it all together.
we're doing presentations in a couple of weeks and have to say how its all going, and include evidence of research. so rather than print off A4 images of the bands i'm painting A1 posters of them. it may sound like extra work, but it'd save money in printer ink and i'll be able to submit the posters as part of illustration work, and also look better when im presenting. so yay.

just been sent this link. it makes me want to be an architect.
